how to install bz files?

there are some files that have a .bz extension. how do i extract these files?

Use bunzip2, should be part of the 'basic' redhat install.

$ bunzip2 somefile.bz

This is the error message I am getting.

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

bunzip2: Deleting output file yp6.tar, if it exists.

Looks like yp6.tar.bz2 is corrupt.

Best option: Get a fresh copy of the file and retry.
