Hi LINUXQueAns,

How did you install Apache?

If you did it with "yum" it's most likely already started.

Have you tried to open your web browser on http://localhost?
Have you check if the folder /var/www is existing on your system? (By default there is a big chances that your website will located there)

The config files of your apache server are located (most likely) in your /etc/apache2 or /etc/httpd/ folder.

This web link will give you some more information on how to configure apache.
http://articles.techrepublic.com.com...1-5076696.html

If you do some changes in your config you will need to reload the config into apache by typing this:
Code:
service apache reload

Hi,

RHEL already have http service.

Confirm if you have http rpm

Code:
sudo rpm -qa | grep -i http
if you dont have http rpm you can use rhel cd/dvd to install http rpm using

Code:
sudo rpm -ivh http-****.rpm
Note: RHEL don't have proper support for yum if you don't have licensed copy of RHEL

Suppose you have you website folder(mysite) with index.html page and other website content then put it in /var/www/html

Do this:

Code:
sudo chown -R apache.apache /var/www/html/mysite
Then restart http service:

Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/httpd restart
Code:
sudo chkconfig httpd on
then access your site in firefox or any other web-browser using your system IP:

Code:
http://192.168.1.1/mysite
This will get you started. For various other configuration you can follow this link:
