how to have programs load in one desktop while swtiching between desktops.

hi im not sure if i asked this already or if i just thought about asking. I think i just thought about asking. Is it possible to have programs load in the same desktop you start them in? Sometimes i'll have several browswer windows open and i'll go to open another in a different desktop and in the mean time i'll switch to check what is on the other browswers and have the new broswer start in that same desktop.. the reason i switched to another desktop to start the program in that desktop. Is there a way to do that? thanks for any replies in advance.

Unfortunately, it opens in whatever desktop you are on when it requests a new desktop. However, once it is open, you can click on the icon in the upper left corner and get a menu that will let you move it to whatever desktop you prefer. So I guess it's more of a workaround than a solution, but I hope it helps some.

yeah that is what i have been doing but my computer is older so firefox doesn't start up too speedy so it is kidn of annoying. It isn't a huge deal i was just curious to see if anyone knew if it was possible to have it start in the desktop you desire.

There was a package in Debian Official CDs. Unfortunately I can't remember its name. If I come across it within the upcoming few days I'll let you know.

Sorry I can't spent much time searching around 16000 packages. If I get to see it again, I'll get to you.
