How to get spellchecker working in Openoffice?
Using Debian Squeeze
Openoffice 3 I can't get the spellchecker working. I have hunspell checked in tools > options > language settings > writing aids. I have hunspell, libhunspell-1.2-0,hunspell-en-ca installed. I tried to install hunspell-en-us, but it was conflicting with myspell. Is there some other packages I need to install or another program that is installed for squeeze to use for spellchecking? Thanks |
You need java if you don't have it. Also, consider moving from OpenOracleOffice to LibreOffice.

I have Java installed. I wrote a new document today and the spellchecker worked, but it doesn't work on documents I made a few days ago; it doesn't pick out the mistakes. If I copy and paste into a new document the spellchecker will work on it. A bit tedious. What would be the reason for this?
I'll take a look at LibreOffice. Is it similar to OpenOffice? Thanks |
