How to get sound juicer to encode mp3 files
I am trying to get the mp3 plugins for sound juicer to work. I have installed gstreamer and gstreamer plugins. However, errors occur when I try to install the gstreamer plugins extras and the gstreamer mp3 plugins. The dialog box says libid3tag.so.0 not found and libmad.so.0 not found. Is there a way to find the missing files and get the packages to install?

You need to install Lame and the development libraries therefor.

I installed lame (notlame-3.96.1-1.i686.rpm). I am not sure if the necessary libraries were included. The sound juicer has no mp3 option. I also installed lame-3.96.1-1.fc1.fr.i386.rpm. Is there a major difference between the two? Can lame be run at the shell prompt and if so, what is it? I am also trying to get streaming audio to work and loaded the gstreamer mp3 plugins. I went to shoutcast and 'save link as' and in Rhythem box, it says 'not an ogg file'. I am stumped on both and need some step by step help to get things working.
