How to get c++ console in ubuntu 9.10

I have to do the c++ programs .in window it is quite simple to get c++ console where we can easily write c++ program ,compile and execute it..but in ubuntu i dont know how to get c++ consloe pls help me for this... so that i can get same console as in window ,,, is there any package to installed for it or anything else .... plz help

Press "ALT+F2", type gnome-terminal.
To compile a c++ program,

Code:

g++ filename.cpp -o filename
./filename
