how to get acrobat reader in linux


How i open acrobat reader in linux. i can see pdf reeder in the menu of linux 9.0. but it is not activated? how i activate it?

i am new to this environment and just learning all the things. please give me details about this

you can download the offical adobe acrobat reader version 5.0.9 from http://www.adobe.com
then just untar it, cd into the new folder and install using
./INSTALL
follow the prompts...
then you have acroread installed and you can create a symbolic link to complete your installation

here is an example ( if you had installed it to /usr/local/Acrobat5 )

ln -s /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread /usr/bin/acroread

now the command acroread gives you pdf viewing capabilities

u may haven't installed it.
there is an 'add and remove packages' option inRH linux. It will list the packages u have installed inur system.. This is shown as groups. The details can be viewed ('detailed option'). U select the required package in detailed view(Xpdf here) then press update. It will ask for the installation CDs. It will take care of the installation.
