How to force Firefox to open external links as active front tab?

Hi,
I'm using external RSS reader, that opens links in Firefox. Firefox currently opens these links in background tabs. How can I configure Firefox so it sets the tabs automatically as active front tab?
Thank you

Help --> Firefox Help
Search for new tabs.
Hard to give you any specifics...we don't know what the links are configured to do, what happens now when you click them, or what version of Firefox you're using.

In Firefox v. 60.x, "Edit-->Preferences-->General-->Tabs-->When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately."

Firefox 64, Xubuntu 18.10. Standard opening link from external source, for example when you have Firefox running and want to open url link from console terminal - it'l be opened as background tab, not active tab.

This option works only for links opened in Firefox, not for links opened by external application.
