How to fix initscripts ?

Hi all

i modified my /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit script file to delete annoying Failed messages
unfortunately i made errors in my modifications so i can't boot anymore.

Is there a way to edit this script without executing it ?
(well i can also install linux on another hd and edit this script from this new linux but i don't have an another hd )

Thanks

PS : i am on redhat 8 but i think it should be quite the same for other distributions

Well, if you know what misake was made and you simply need to get in so that you can undo the mistake, one of the most pain free process would be to see if a friend can burn a copy of Knoppix for you. This will give you a CD-rom bootable linux enviorment where you can mount your hard drive and make the changes that you desire, then reboot without the disk to see if the changes had the desired effect.
