How to find executables in a folder?
I have installed Oracle 9i R2 on RH9 server and currently listing /bin folder to find executables. I want to create launchers for all the executables but I am unable to find the executables. Is there any way to find a list of all executables like in windows dir *.exe, *.bat etc?

Most linux executables do not have a . extension, as linux doesnt use them for much.
You could try using KFind, as it will let you sort file types.

You could use ls -al and see which of the files have the +x flag set.

Hello sikandar,
You can find the executables in /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin and /usr/sbin. The executable binaries get installed here by default as defined by the software. You can specify a different location for the istallation of the binaries at the time of installation, if needed.
Thanks;
