How to file stored in C:\ using windows
 
Dear All

I am very new to Linux . In my PC I have both Windows and Linux operating system .

I have two questions

1 Is it possible to use internet in Linux ? I think its possible but my service provider used windows for it how I should change it ?

2 I have downloaded few games from internet which are based in linux "bshooter.tgz" I have this file in C:\ and I want to run this using in linux how to do that ? I cant see it in linux ? how to search file in linux ?
I have red hat .

1. Yes of course you can use the Internet in Linux! You'll need to tell us what kind of connection you have, for people to be able to help you to set it up.

2. You will need to mount your Windows partition in Linux to be able to view the files on it. If you want help with this, give us some details about your partition structure and what file system you're using on Windows.

If you're using Red Hat 9 or earlier, you'll probably want to consider getting a newer distro, as those are out of date and no longer supported by Red Hat (e.g. you can't get updates for things from them).

I dont know much about partition structure , can you please tell me where I can get this information ?

Secondly I think file type should be fat32 , my operating system in windows 2000

You don't know how your hard drive is partitioned? :/

Do a "fdisk -l" (without quotes and as root) in a terminal and that should tell you.
