how would i extract winrar file is there a software for linux and distibute free of charge instead of getting it from www.rarsoft.com

can any explain me can u extract file using pax command

i think you can get rar and unrar free. it's command line but i remember it coming with my distro...
from googling a bit, i see there's at least the unrar package as rpm and stuff from rpmfind.net.
