How to extract PCL code from printer and replace them

Hi
We previously used SCO UNIX and SCO Merge (DOS ) used the command "printer lpt1 unix" to get the default PCL codes which were replaced by search and replace of the PCL commands using sed command

For eg,

we have
"/s/\033E/\033(s3B/g" written inside FILE1

for replacing the E with (s3B on the printer.

we have the following line run under SCO (DOS mode).

printer lpt1 unix | cat <&0 | sed -f FILE1 | lp -d{defaultPrinter}

This command(printer) is not working / not available with DOSEMU (dos emulator) used with latest version of Linux.

Do we have any alternative commands for extracting PCL from printer and replace as needed by our application?

It's been a long time since I used DOS, but I don't remember any 'printer' command. I suspect it's a SCO thing.

Your question is confusing. You seem to be alternating between *nix and DOS. Which one are you trying the command on? If it's DOS, this isn't the forum

Why don't you try 'man printer' or 'help printer' or 'printer /help' and see what comes up on the box where you can use that prog. Assuming that noone else is familiar with the command, the help output may enable us (or you) to find a suitable replacement.

EDIT: Whoops, I guess this *is* an acceptable forum for dosemu. Sorry!
