How to enable DTS Neo:PC in Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 PCIe sound card
Recently, I bought a new PC and wanted to add a sound card for better music and movie experience. After doing some research on internet, I came across Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 PCIe sound card. It has DTS Neo:PC technology which converts any stereo signal to 5.1 or 7.1 DTS sound. Read here - https://www.asus.com/us/Sound-Cards/Xonar_DSX/ just in case you are interested. I am looking forward to order it on Amazon.
Now, the main question. Documentation available for this particular sound card shows how to enable DTS Neo:PC through its software provided in a cd which comes with the pack. But that's for a Windows machine. I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. I did some research to find how to enable this DTS Neo:PC technology for this sound card in Ubuntu. But unfortunately, I didn't find any. Anyone knows how to do this in Ubuntu i.e. how to enable DTS Neo:PC in Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 PCIe sound card for Ubuntu? Thanks |
Hello and welcome to the forum :)
Unless someone here knows exactly how to do this, if that's possible in Linux, I think the advice you received here, about contacting ALSA and/or the manufacturer (ASUS,) is probably the best way of finding out. Regards... |
