How to download ISO images
Hi, Guys

I am new to this Linux and this forum. I would like to download the latest version of Suse and dual boot with window xp on my home computer. My problem is that each time i try to download the image i am asked for usrname and password. I have looked everywhere and i can't find where to get the login credentials. I'm currently using IE and download accelerator on windows xp. Please advice

easiest just to pick a different mirror.... try one from our iso site. there certainly shouldn't be a password on them as a rule of thumb.

I have tried nearly all the mirrors on the site for Live DVD ISO image and all are requesting a user name and password. Is it my settings or is there a conspiracy . . . ..

Maybe both ;)

Works just fine for me, no password needed.

Thank you for your help but the problem still persist. The link you posted give this error message when i choses save target as

Microsoft Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer cannot download ...SE-Linux-9.2-LiveCD-Gnome.iso from

A connection with the server could not be established

I've started losing the few hairs still left on my skull...........

Instead of highlighting, right click and copy target, it's much bigger than just that ;)

I hope the downlaod goes well. I have problems in Windows downloading DVD iso's. Anything over 2Gb and windows seems to fail. Either by ftp or http. Eventually I grabbed it using the trusty wget command :-)

Yeah you're right...on Windows sometimes the connection with the ftp server fails, so maybe if your download fails craig_jones....use a ftp downloader, something like cute ftp or wget command like woppa30 said, I've been able to grab the DVD iso with cuteftp...
