how to dock ppp in gnome?

hi,

has anyone here ever experienced the annoying ppp in gnome once it has connected? even though you check on the dock to panel when connected, it would remain visible in the window or if minimized is checked, it would simple remain minimized but still a remain visible in the window. this is not the case in kde... in kde it docks completely and cleanly.

is there a way to dock the ppp in gnome?
