How to disappear TrueCrypt volume icons from desktop?

I am running CentOS 6 with the Gnome desktop. I have TrueCrypt 7.1 installed. When I mount a TrurCrypt volume I observe that a volume icon appears on the Desktop. I would rather it did not.

I can of course use gconf-editor and unset the key apps; nautilus; desktop; volumes_visible [ ] However, this will hide ALL volumes such as a CD or DVD when inserted and I would rather not hide those volumes.

I have explored the TrueCrypt options and reviewed the documentation and FAQs on the TrueCrypt site. Nothing stands out that might help. Does anyone have any neat tricks which might accomplish this?

TIA,

Ken
