How to disable wifi interface in Fedora 19 (NetworkManager)

How can I permanently disable a PCI wifi interface that Fedora brings up automatically? I do want to use a USB wifi interface, so the wireless switch is no option. In Debian I used to hide network interfaces from NetworkManager by adding them to /etc/network/interfaces, but that file doesn't exist in Fedora 19.

Networkmanager is a pain in the butt, I would start by uninstalling it, then you can manage stuff the normal way.

the lazy way would be to put something like:

ifconfig eth0 down
into /etc/rc.local (replace eth0 with whatever your card is named).

The network configuration tool in the menu used to allow you to delete a particular interface: does it no longer do so?

Otherwise, this thread may contain an answer

You should be able to go into your network confgurations and delete the interface.
