How to disable one OS from 2 OS installed

can i ask about a windows xp question?

i had a working Windows XP installed on my computer and accidently i installed another Windows XP on it with a salve HD, i thought it will install on the slave HD and found out that it only installed on the my primary HD and it didnt overwrite my old XP. resulting, there are 2 windows in my primary HD but it boot on the newly installed OS and has errors, can u help me disable the newly installed windows or just have a choice between what OS should i use without formatting my primary HD...

Thanks....

Change c:\boot.ini to writable (usually is read-only) and remove the offending line. Save the file and mark read-only (important!)

I would make a backup of this file just-in-case, you can remove the backup after you verify that you can boot.

Odd place to ask this question, as this is a linux-oriented site, and it appears that you have a windows-only question :P
