I have downloaded some video from YouTube. I want to extract the audio and save as ogg. The question I have is can I determine the type of audio used in the video recording and the quality? That would help determine what bit rate I want to use; is it is at 64kps there would be no use to encode at larger. Also if it is in mp3 I probably wouldn't bother encoding in ogg because that would further degrade the sound. I am using youtube-dl to download the video and ffmpeg to capture the audio.
