Do you mean "empty" the trash bin?
If you open it your browser will open because it thinks you want to browse the files in it.

If it is emptying that you want to do, try right clicking it, then select "Empty Trash" or something similar.

If that doesn't work, we will need more information (such as what Window/Desktop Manager you've got, and anything else you can give us).

NO, i mean delete it because somehow my home directory and my trash can got associated with my browser and now when i open them my browser opens up, The icons are on my desktop and I cant delete them. So basically all i want to do is remove the icons from the desktop because they dont work. I tried to associate them but it does not stay with the association i chose, it does it once then switches back to the browser.

RH9, Gnome, Opera.

If I were you i would just nuke all the hidden files in your home dir. Then you could reconfigure everything. Thats what I would do but if you do try it be careful what you delete.

/home/USER/Desktop/Trash/.directory
is the file for the trash bin, maybe if you play with that, you can reset it or remove it or something....
