how to create two proess?

hi,

i am having four partition in my CF .
i am checking the all filesystem using chkfsys utility by shell script.
if corrupted occur i was killed the chkfsys utility by chkfsys process id . after i have to take some decision .but after kill the process the total script is come out . how can i do ?. i have to decision after kill the proces.please help me..
