how to create solaris usb boot media?

Hi,
I run the dd command in ubuntu 14.10 to write the sol-11_2-live-x86.usb to the 4GB usb flash:
Quote:
dd if=sol-11_2-live-x86.usb of=/dev/sdc1
the dd command successfully wrote the iso to the fulsh, but after boot of usb flash got the error "no bootable media found press any key to reboot".

I'd guess you are attempting to boot to a usb and not a hard drive.

Go to bios and move usb drive up over internal hard drive.

Were you running the command from the directory in which you have the Solaris iso? If you were, the error was having "sdc1" when it should be "sdc". It will overwrite anything on the flash drive.
