How to create a shortcut?

Hi,

I recently install redhat 9, and I installed the instant messenger (I like it more than gaim), but in order to run it, I have to type /usr/bin/aim in the consol

I figured out how to make a shortcut on the desktop, but I want to place the shortcut on the panel, and it says it wont let me, because it is not an executable.

any ideas? thanks

Hi....

ok...do this....Click the main RH menu button....click 'Find Files' . Put 'aim' as the filename and search path as '/usr'. It will display u a list of locations where that file exists. Now just simply drag the 'aim' file to the desktop.....As soon as you release the mouse button, it will show u 3 options...move file, copy file or link....choose 'link' and your job is done.

Regards,

amit
