How to correct misaligned cursor in konsole

Hi all,
Using Debian Testing/Unstable with a KDE (Plasma5) desktop. My problem concerns the cursor position in konsole (the KDE terminal program). Other terminal programs (terminator, xterm, etc.) work correctly; only konsole malfunctions. The cursor is displace 3 positions to the right of where is should be. The attached screenshots comparing konsole with terminator illustrate the problem. The first pictures show the initial state of the terminal and the 2nd pictures show what they look like after the typing the letter "a".

Thanks for any help.

All I can find via google in re konsole cursor offset points to the font one chooses to use in konsole.

The solution to cursor offset seems to be to configure konsole to use a monospace font.

Thanks brd. That was the problem. I don't know why/how the font got changed after all the years I've been using Konsole. In any event it caused me to discover Terminator. I think I'll stick with that one for a while.
cheers,
jdk

I'm having this problem, too, but the font options in konsole have only to do with adjusting the font size. How do I change to a monospace font, and how many are there?

Well I did manage to find where to change to various monospace fonts, but the problem still remains. It also is present in nano, and other progs. Some characters completely disapear, and not just the underscore. For instance, in the /home dir, there are two usernames identical but for the last letter. The ls prog shows them as being the same, the last letter just isn't being shown at all. This is the pits.

I had this problem too. Fixed it by unselecting bold in the font configuration for Konsole.
