How to convert an AVI file to a VCD?

I've tried using transcode and mencvcd and they both seem to output the .avi file to a mpeg1 and mpa (mpeg audio)

I don't want my audio spilt from the mpeg... I want it to be one file.

My original plan was to get AVI to VCD so I could burn it. Now, I'd be satisfied if I could get a simple AVI into a single audio/video combined mpeg file.

Any help?

If I recall corectly, tovid will create a vcd. It may still have to demux the audio for the mpeg conversion, but it will remux them later.

Hi

This thread was useful as I also needed to convert to mpg, or as it turned out to VCD

I installed kavi2svcd in Mandriva 2006, it did it all for me then I burnt it using k3b

Easy as :) Only thing was, the movie jumped continuously when I played it on my set top DVD player. Any ideas on how to fix this? I burnt it from AVI to mpg2 and then I think k3b converted it to VCD, maybe I should do a straight AVI to VCD conversion instead?

Cheers
Asif
