How to convert AMR to MP3/OGG
Hi,
I recorded a piece of sound using my Sony Ericsson W810i. Now this has been recorded as an AMR file. How do I convert this into MP3 or OGG file?
I'm using Kubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (7.10).

I couldn't get mobilemediaconverter to work on my 64bit Ubuntu system, but I found a website which should be able to do it online and for free

You can also use audacity.. I just barely tried it. Seems to be the easiest solution. Depending on what, where, how, etc.

I was able to get it to work with Faasoft AMR to MP3 Converter.
It is easy and useful. And it has the feature of converting AMR to MP3, WAV, AAC, ALAC, M4A, etc.

Note on Audacity - on Fedora you need a non-standard version to get AMR support. Set up RPM Fusion repositories then install audacity-freeworld. This works with AMR on Fedora 21.
