Red face How to control volume of ALSA

I just finished developing a mediaplayer under FC7, with audio rendering on ALSA/OSS and video rendering on SDL/DFB/FB. But when I tried to control volume on ALSA, I found there's no related info or sample cases. I'm blocked. Anyone got it? Any hint is welcome. Appreciation to u.

Run alsamixer on a terminal for volume control. If you want to make the volume settings permanent, run alasactl store as root.

Thumbs up

Setting by tools is not the way that I want. I want to control it in source code of C or C++ in my framework. Thank you anyway.

Sorry, that was a pretty dumb answer. Maybe this should be moved to the programming section or something..

Smile that's all right

Take it easy. Any way, thanks for you answer. Now I have resovled this problem by calling some APIs of ALSA, like as snd_mixer_open, snd_mixer_selem_set_playback_volume(...) and so on. Thank u,again.
