How to configure DNS and Proxy
 

Hi Guys

I have One Linux Server with Red Hat 9 Installed. And also have 2 network card. First one is for LAN i.e. eth0, another is eth1 for Internet. My problem is I want to access Web application from LAN and simultaneously from Web which I Installed in same box. One of my friend has suggested me to configure DNS on RH 9 for access the application from Web and enable the proxy server to access from LAN.
Now can anybody tells me How I escape from this problem. I know little bit Linux but I am not champion in Linux.

If you don't want to go the 'configure DNS' route, then register (it's free) a domain name from dyndns.org and forward that IP to your WAN IP. Are you behind a router? If you are, then forward the port that your application is running on to your linux lan ip address on the router.

Yes this Linux server is behind the router (DSL). Here my eth1 has a static IP example 61.99.99.99 and eth0 has a simple lan IP address example 192.9.200.1 and my all users want to access remotely eth1 address but here all users can't remember the IP address. for that I want to configure DNS.

Since you are already behind a router then eth1 is useless to you (unless your linux box IS the router). Ok, then register a domain with dyndns.org and hook the domain to your WAN IP which is: 61.99.99.99 (or your real ip hehe).
