how to clear the cache in linux.
 
Good morning All

I have a linux mahcnie.when i login and open a terminal and run the below command it is showing me the used RAM space of abound 2GB.


[username@hostanme ~]$ free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2009 1937 72 0 130 1246
-/+ buffers/cache: 560 1449
Swap: 4102 0 4102



Can anyone please help me on how to clear the RAM space and the Cached space used by my machine.

I have not open any single application only just a terminal.

PLease help me out.

You can not clear it. there is no problem. this is just the way linux efficiently uses memory for object caching to improve performance.
