How to choose Divx 6 in mplayer / KDE ?

Hi people.

I have just installed Divx 6 from the divx site - http://labs.divx.com/DivXLinuxCodec (..tux we still love you ...)

However how can I tell what codec mplayer is using to playback the divx files?

I.e - in gentoo (with my USE flags) it automatically installs win32codecs (which includes Divx 4) when installing mplayer

Is there any way to get mplayer (and KDE in general) to automatically use DIVX6 instead of Divx4 (of ffmpeg) to run divx films?

Any advice is welcomed.

Cheers

Does any one know about this?

i.e - what is the default plugin directory for KDE?

- is there a way to check that mplayer/xine is using the correct divx plugin?

I am running gentoo and suse.

Cheers
