How to check the bandwidth of an aplication
Hello, im kinda newb to all this stuff..
i have a unix/linux with apache webserver that i admin via ssh, and i host a counter strike dedicated server, now, how can i check the bandwidth that this application is consuming? and how many of it have consumed? Thanx Peace out |
Since this isLinux there's a host of
possibilities :} You could use iptables, and analyse the log-files (filtering out and adding sizes using awk). You could use ntop or ethercap or tcpdump or ... go have a look at http://freshmeat.net and search for traffic analysis. Cheers, Tink |
A friend told me to use ipac-ng
that with that prog i could see how much bandwith is going from a specific port.. i will try that 1st.. Thanx man |
ipac-ng ... I never got that to work properly
(it wouldn't play with my postgreSQL) :) It uses the iptables, though, and only allows for database storage of routing information so you can evaluate stuff later :) Good luck! Cheers, Tink |
Yah i couldent get it to work..
damn to hard for my linux skills.. i will try one of those u mentioned.. Thanx |
I would just like to mention that there are a few petitions for a Counter Strike linux port. I personally feel it is alittle insulting when they produce a server but don't bother to include us [linux community] in their game without emulation [possible loss of edge despite the brilliance of wine etc etc].
Anyhow you might want to sign this one: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/190498263 Tux wanna play! |
