how to change the browser behavior when using 'save as' in firefox?

Hi all,

When trying to save something in firefox, if I am in a directory which has subdirectories and a subdirectory is highlighted and i hit "save", it will open that subdirectory instead of saving the current directory. is it possible to change this behavior? I want it to save to the current directory, if I wanted to open that directory I would double click on it.

Thanks!

Make sure the subdirectory isnt highlighted when you save. Does that fix it?

i understand that, but i don't like that rule. I want to change it so even if one is selected, it just saves in the current directory

Are you right clicking and choosing "save as"? Also there may be an extension that will regulate file types for you if it is a case of matching types with directories.
