how to change gamma??

My monitor is extremely dark even at the highest gamma i was wondering if there is a way or maybe a tool to change the gamma resolution through software??
Maybe a command for XF86 or a specific program anyone knows of..

You didn't even try, did you? Try xgamma, or alternatively, look here:

I really didn't...
I was reading through other threads and the idea just came to my head...i hadn't thought of it before. Being myself already at lq i just decided to post and see if anyone knew something.
