how to change booting sequence at linux?
Hello, all.

When my linux server is located at remote like IDC, is it possible to change the CMOS setting like booting sequence?

Currentrly, first booting sequence is HDD and secondary is PXE and I would like to change the booting sequence each other(first PXE and second HDD) when reboot the current linux(centos 5.2) system.

Is it possible to use IPMI?

Thanks in advance.

You can set this in the BIOS
Seems to me you need physical access

You could always request if they supply KVMoIP access to servers, they might not supply such services for free but most KVMoIP devices use simple VNC connections, you should be able to get into the bios with one, else wise you'd need physical access to set this setting.

Thank you for your reply.

But what I said was not to change booting sequence at console
but how to change booting sequence at linux shell prompt.

I think it would be possible only by IPMI,right?

Thanks in advance.
