how to burn music on a double layer dvd to play on all DVD devices
I have many record albums that I want to put on dvd's that can be played on pc, car or home DVD player if possible.
I have Ion's LP Forever record player and Audacity to record and save on my pc. CD's will play on my DVD player as well as on my pc but DVD's will play on my pc only. Any info is appreciated. Thanks
Without knowing the capabilities of the DVD or car player my first suggestion would be to verify you are using the correct media type and format.
Are you creating audio or data CDs for the car? Can it play data CDs. If so it may not be able to play VBR MP3s. In addition some have limitations as to number of directories, subdirectories etc that may not be listed in the manual.
Hello michaelk,
Appreciate the time you took. The writer is an LG Super Multi DVD RW HL-DT-ST - DVDRAM GH24LS50. It writes at least a dozen formats. My media can be DVD-R or DVD+R and, hopefully, DVD DL. This drive came bundled with Nero7 Essentials but won't install with wine and windows is a thing of the past. How about not considering the car player but a portable DVD player? I remember Windows Explorer having an option to burn "for a pc and some/most CD/DVD players" (maybe the other way around...some pc's...) so there must be a common format for them. Brasero doesn't seem to be able to do any sound on DVD. Same with K3B. No option for data DVD or audio DVD. Sorry if this isn't enough info and if that is the case please let me know what info I need to give you. Thanks and I have a notion it is possible. lol
I was asking about the capabilities of the players not the writer.
PCs can typically play any format on any media but it isn't true for
the standalone players. I don't know of any car player that can play audio DVDs yet
but there could be..
Again without knowing anything about your particular equipment I can not say if there
a common format.
OK, I recorded audio using Audacity, exported to desktop as MP3, made an iso with Brasero. Burned with Brasero to DVD+R and DVD DL. Both played on Audiovox portable DVD player as well as Banshee. So, metashima gets the brass ring. A gold one if this works in the car lol....Thank you very much
