My Mandrake 10 system came with the advx flavor of apache installed with php4.3.4. Now I want to upgrade php to 4.3.9 because 4.3.4 wasn't configured with the options that I want. My question is, how can I build the apache module since advx doesn't have apxs. Note that I have the new version of php installed and working, but advx still uses the old version.

Any ideas?

Also, I did configure php with --enable-shared. Does this mean that shared module was created? If so, where would it be located? There is no file called mod_php4.so (except for the original) that I can find.

Never mind. Got it fixed. I downloaded apache2, rebuilt php adding the necessary configure option Then copied the shared module for apache to the correct location for advx.
