Angry how to boot from secondary memory card


hi all,

i am using versalogic board(sbc) .this board is booting from primary cf and some time this primary cf is corrupted . i have secondary cf port . i don't know how to boot from secondary cf(priority first if primary cf is presented) .please tell me how to boot os fron secondary cf.

Kind of a lot of if's but I'll try one or two.

If you have a bios way to change boot hard drive order then I'd make a clone of the cf card. When it needs secondary card, I' boot to bios and edit choice.

If you have grub or an editable or menu driven type loader, you can generally edit it in files or on demand to select other media.

Way off topic.
I don't know of a way to automate it as in if boot 0 fails then try boot 1. There are some old time/advanced computers that have a small os that boots it to do that but this is way beyond your issue.

Again, as with that thread, there is nothing we can tell you. Again, because boot priority is a function of the HARDWARE...before the system is booted, how do you expect that Linux (or any OTHER operating system), comes into play? Go back and read the manual on your board...contact the manufacturer, and see if they have anything to offer you.
