How to automatically maximize file picker window in every tool?

Hi,

I suddenly occurred to me that it is pretty dumb that the file picker window that you see in every tool/app/program that you use only uses a tinly little fraction of the available screen space. I normally use high resolution screens (never anything smaller than Full HD and there is a ton of useless screen real estate)

Is there a way to configure the file pickers on a OS level (via the desktop manager or such?) Chose a size that I like and make the system remember it for next time?

That's exactly how it works on my system - at least for the GTK filepicker.

How do you configure it? I know that the GTK file picker unfortunately is not used everywhere.
