I'm under the impression SquirrelMail is just an HTML mail reader. I don't think it manages users at all. The users who can read/send mail are regular Unix/Linux users on your system and SquirrelMail just gives them the ability to read their email from a browser.

Check into the "useradd" command or any of the various graphical or web-based system administration tools which allow user/password management.

There is a 'manage' plugin available for squirrelmail. If you are using webmin you could also add users with that as well.

I'm having the same problem. I have looked everywhere for a place to add users. I installed the administration plugin, but i am still comming up with errors. Is there any way you can DIRECTLY edit the username without going through this plugin?
