Unhappy how to add service in service list

dear all,

I have installed rlpr-2.0.2.tar.gz on red hat 8.0 , after installing I got rlprd deamon file which is in /usr/bin. To start the rlprd deamon i have to start it with /usr/bin/rlprd & or i can add /usr/bin/rlprd & in rc.local file so that the deamon gets started during bootup. But i want to add this service in the service list which can be get using 'setup' command. , does anybody know how to ad this service in that list.

Simplest way would be to find a .rpm or .src.rpm for rlprd. Another way could be to pick one from /etc/rc.d/init.d and copy them to a new name, like /etc/rc.d/init.d/rlprd, and change things like location of the binary and PID name. Test and if it works you can use chkconfig to add it to the list.

Nota bene: RHL 8 is DEPRECATED. It can't be updated through Fedora Legacy anymore which makes it a security hazard unless you know how to deal with it. Please switch to something supported like for instance CentOS or CaOS, Fedora or alike if you want something resembling RHL.
