How to add "render" to fluxbox?

I checked and render was not enabled when I compiled fluxbox 0.9.14 from source.

How do I enable it? I'd like to use transparent menus...

You need to enable any options you want at configure time. So just before you compile it, add the flags to ./configure.
Code:
./configure --enable-debug --enable-render --enable-xft
