how to access files on HDD while running an ISO on QEMU?

I have a quite a few linux ISOs lying on my hard drive.
I can run them using QEMU but it would be very helpful if I could access my /home directory on hdd so that I can use my files for testing the distro.

for example, i would like to access my multimedia files when checking out a multimedia distro iso.

Qemu may mount physical volumes that are not written by the host system. The easiest way probably would be to export NFS shares to the virtual machine.

I have only one root partition, alongwith a swap partition.

is it possible to read files from the partition from where the host system is running?

BTW, i have no experience of file sharing over networks. So whatever you said is quite cryptic to me. Thank you for ur help anyway.

hdd, iso, qemu
