how set up apache solr on linux


Hi All ,

I am new to linux and trying to setup apache solr on my server , i think i am kind of lost and not able to understand how to point my data set(csv file) to that and where do i make changes to point to my location . I was able to bring up the admin console

i found some thing in this file can i make changes here

/home/user/solr-4.3.1/example/solr/collection1/conf/slorconfig.xml

<dataDir>${solr.data.dir:}</dataDir>


if i make changes what do i need to do .

Why not start with the available documentation, wiki, tutorial and FAQ? At least that would allow you to ask more specific questions...
