how long does memtest run?

I finaly got memtest to run, but how long do I let it run for? Is it a day? A few days? Or longer?

quite some time if I remember, on a slow machine with 128mb it never finished, on a fast machine with 512mb it took 24 hours if I remember, I believe you can tell it to do less tests, but its there as a soak test, if you can tune the speed of your memory it will tell you if the memory still works as advertised, or that you are trying to go too fast.

o ok, well I got 512 megs of 3200 ram, an AMD Athlon XP 2500+, that should be at most 24 hours. I was just wanting to know, because my comp has been on 17 hours, and I didn't want to f up anything. Thanx.
