Hi what do you install when you want to update kernel?
I only think it's kernel-devel and kernel
but what is as well necessary so it works well?

basically just the kernel and its modules...
upgrading the -devel package shouldn't hurt, though, as long as your distributor is recommending that you upgrade it... same for the source...

usually there's a package called kernel-modules which includes the kernel modules... yes, the modules are the drivers for your hardware which weren't built into the kernel... i'm sorry i can't give you a precise answer as i don't use fedora so i'm not sure how they package their kernel packages... on slackware there's basically four kernel packages: kernel-ide, kernel-modules, kernel-headers, and kernel-source...
my guess is that your kernel-devel package is the kernel headers...
what kernel packages are you getting prompted to update?? your best bet is to only update those that you are being prompted for... i mean, that's kinda the point of having one of those automated package managers, right?? like, to let it make these kinda decisions for you??
