how is random playlist generation different from windows winamp vs. xmms & amarok ?

i am curious about the different mechanisms in playback when playing on random on windows winamp compared to amarok and xmms ? also what linux media player operates on the same "random principle" as windows winamp ?

No idea on what makes them 'random' but i believe Amaroks Random play includes the ratings/scors you assign songs, playing the highest rated more often.
