Unhappy how get connectivity to oracle 9i


hi,
i am newbee in linuxworld so pls help me

i was installed php and apache server and oracle9i but i can't get the connection to oracle through php script.
i also start listener control start. but the connection doesn't make with database.
what is the problem i don't know somebody help me.
pl send the code of php how i can connect the oracle and what are services are to be run and all that comes to connect the oracle
