how do you open a locked power point file in OO Impress?

how do you open a locked power point file in open office "Impress"? I use power point files as part of my job. If the file is not "locked", impress can view it. Files are locked to prevent accidental modification. The problem is that Impress will not view these files, but instead gives an error. Can anything be done to view a locked power point file?
