How do you kill K3b Autostart in Mandrake 10?

I recently upgraded from Mandrake 9.2 to 10 Community and now K3b will autostart when a CD-Writable disc is inserted into the burner. I run VMWare workstation, and when I insert a CD-writable into the burner drive, VMWare will generate error messages becuase K3b has autostarted and taken control of the CD-RW device first! I've searched the K3b setup and configuration menus dozens of times in search of a way to turn autostart off and can't find the solution there. A google search of the web reveals that there is a way to disable autostart for SUSE operating systems by configuring the application SuSEplugger, but the search is dry for Mandrake 10 solutions. I didn't discover answers on the K3b website, I scoured the FAQ and help documents with no avail. If anyone knows, Is there a configuration file on Mandrake 10 Community which I can alter that will end my K3b autostart nuisance? If not, how can I disable K3b autostart without uninstalling K3b?

Hmm, why dont you change your /etc/fstab option for /dev/cdrom from auto to noauto? I guess that will not mount the cd automatically and therefore will not launch k3b when you insert a CD....for the moment, you can do this and search for a better solution for your problem...
